Reconciliations play a vital role to the overall financial statement close process. Improperly done they can lead to errors and open you up to risk. However, properly managed they can result in unexpected value that stretches well beyond the SSC. Michael is a Product Expert with BlackLine. He combines nearly 20 years of accounting experience in auditing, consulting, and financial reporting management to guide companies on their paths to modern finance. Michael looks beyond the numbers and focuses on process improvements to eliminate manual components, increase efficiencies, and enhance controls across the entire accounting function. When not writing biographies in third-person narrative, he travels the world sharing his experience and presenting innovative approaches to increasing productivity and optimizing the close reporting process.
Mandy Strider is the Director of Accounting – BlackLine with Interstate Hotels and Resorts, a third-party hotel management company. She has been with Interstate for 12 years and held various positions within their Corporate Accounting function. Her current primary responsibility is serving as Interstate’s BlackLine system administrator with over 250 active users spanning over 400 active entities both domestic and international. Prior to Interstate, Mandy worked in public accounting for 8 years.
Rochelle Hood serves as Global Head of Customer Analytics and Research for SSON where she is responsible for enhancing member value and experiences.
Rochelle has managed operations and led projects in multiple disciplines including shared services, call center operations and information services. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) attaining her credentials from the Project Management Institute and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Rochelle holds a BSc in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. Rochelle’s professional experience includes project management, process excellence and service delivery roles at IBM, QVC and companies in the defense contracting industry.
